TONY and Pam Barich are owners
of Whistling Kite Vineyard near
Loxton in the Riverland. The
biodynamic vineyard is on the
banks of the mighty Murray river
and the couple have just taken
delivery of some Woodshield
posts for trellis replacement. They
chose the posts as Woodshield
is approved for organic use by
Australian Organics and they have
been using them since 2010. The
posts last and are fully sustainable.
They don’t leech chemical, there
are no rotting issues, no drying
out, cracking or loose staples and
the best part is they last 4-5 times
longer than standard, chemically
treated posts. Whistling Kite is an
award-winning winery and the
2014 Montepulciano was selected
for showing at the prestigious 21st
Century Vino London event. Tony
and Pam’s wines are among more
than 50 selected to exhibit from
14 Australian wine regions. They
were also finalists for the South
Australian Small Business Awards.
